A Gucci handbag just screams “I have good taste” as loud as
is possible. In point of fact, many

Of course Gucci was not always a household name. Founded in the 1920’s by Guccio Gucci in Florence,
Italy, the House of Gucci
became prominent during the 1960’s. The
humble beginnings of this fashion giant were I making leather goods, among them
saddles for horses. Guccio Gucci was the
son of a merchant from the north of Italy. He garnered a reputation for quality and
hired the finest draftsmen he could find to work for him.
In 1938 Gucci opened a shop in Rome,
and in 1947 he created the bamboo handled Gucci handbag, still a very popular
item. In the 1950’s Gucci developed
striped webbing for use on his products, something derived from horse saddles
and a trademark of the company to this day. Gucci had six children, four of
them sons who would play major roles in the company. After Guccio Gucci died in 1953 his sons
opened boutiques in London, Paris
and New York.
Gucci Makes Many Good Products
Gucci is well known for many find products including watches
with a sterling reputation, perfumes, and many types of clothing worn by such
well known starlets as Gwyneth Paltrow and Elizabeth Hurley in the movie and at
Hollywood premiers.
With such glamour, it is no wonder that Gucci handbags are such sought
after pieces by discriminating women of taste everywhere. Since the Gucci explosion of the 1960’s and
1970’s, the Gucci handbag as well as many other items of Gucci has risen in the
manufacture field quickly in popularity.
Walk down the street in Paris, London,

Berlin, Amsterdam.
Venice, Bonn
or Rome. Chances are quite good
that you will see stylish, well dressed women clutching Gucci handbags more
often than you see many other designer brands.
Gucci handbags are popular among the jet set, among the Hollywood
crowd, and among most women who can afford these fine bags. The reasons are many, and include
quality. But probably the most important
reason is the appeal of the Gucci name itself.
